Helping your audience, running a successful blogging Ministry, being the salt and light of the world, these are some of the benefits of being a confident Christian blogger.
But you may be wondering….
- How do I boost my confidence?
- Can I ever really become a successful Christian Blogger?
Yes, you can.
If you are not confident about blogging right now, know that you are not alone and it is possible for you to gain confidence and become very successful.
I have been struggling with this over the past months.
But through it all God has been assuring me that He has called me to blog, it is not a mistake or my own imagination.
Blogging is my Ministry.
So here are five ideas to help you blog confidently!
1. Trust God with your blog
We are constantly being encouraged to trust in systems, skills and so many other things.
But nothing else matters when God is with us and for us.
Don’t get me wrong, we need systems, skills and so forth but they should not take God’s place.
We have been appointed to bear fruit in the blogosphere. It is not really about money or being popular it is about Jesus.
Remember we did not choose Jesus, He chose us!
Isn’t that great?!
If you have in one way or another strayed off from your true purpose, don’t beat yourself up instead start doing the right thing.
Go back to your first love.
Systems, people and methods of doing things are good. But, they change. What works today may not necessarily work, months or years from now. So, do not let temporal things overshadow your true calling. Remember we are supposed to be light of the blogosphere.
At the end of the day we should remember that success comes from God.
2. Blog to Serve
Jesus came to serve and He left us with a mandate to serve others. Every Christian is called to serve and that is also true for us Christian bloggers.
That means that your blog is not really about you.
“Oh well I thought I was going to tell people my stories or just make money off my writing?!”
Yes, yes…. you can serve others through your stories, you can be a voice of encouragement by sharing your experiences and you can make money through your blog (1Cor9: 14).
But make your blog about God and others, not you or money.
The truth is it’s easier to become frustrated and lose confidence when it is all about you.
3. Know That You Have the Anointing To Blog
Where the Lords leads he provides.
He has anointed you to be a Christian blogger so even though things look bleak right now know that you are more than able to blog.
God never lies so if He told you to blog then do it!
- Spiritual Gifts
We have been given spiritual gifts. If you do not know your gift(s), ask God to reveal it to you. Are you good at teaching, do you enjoy encouraging others, or preaching? Whatever it is, use it in your blog.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about words and writing.
I have the gift of encouragement and that is why I use writing to encourage other people.
So God has anointed you to blog by giving you a spiritual gift and He has filled you with passion for writing to be the light of the world, the salt of the earth and bring glory to His kingdom.
4. Keep Learning
Great bloggers never stop learning, so you never really arrive because it is a journey of personal discovery and knowing more about our heavenly father, and then going out and sharing your experiences with others.
- Be an ardent student of the word of God.
Before you go out there to build others up, you have to spend time building yourself. How do you do that? Spend time in the word of God.
- Learn from other Bloggers
Look for top bloggers and learn from them. Don’t do it alone, you need others to not only be a confident Christian blogger but to also belong to a community. You need to learn from others the way people are learning from you.
5. Follow the Leading of the Holy Spirit
Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and you will become a confident Christian blogger that is very successful.
Be a good listener.
We like to focus on doing this and that for God. But do we ever take time to listen?
Two-three days ago God told me to listen. I had been doing a lot of talking and planning but I wasn’t really listening.
The Holy Spirit may be leading you to rest yet you are busy working because you need to keep up with other bloggers. Or He may be leading you to write about a certain topic but because it is not “profitable” you are brushing it off.
Running a successful blog in the Christian niche is a really struggle. There are many challenges we face and it is easy for us to lose confidence in our calling but it is better to be wrong with God than right with man.
Keep trusting God with your blog and you will always be a confident Christian blogger despite it all.
